Throughout
this week, I've learned there are three things that help start-ups to be
successful, it's a GEM, Gathering all your resources, Enhancing your product,
and Marketing it to your target audience. Gathering your resources can include
physical resources, time, help from others, sponsors, but, arguably, most importantly
information. Enhancing your product “the pivotal point,” means tailoring it to
the market. Lastly, marketing, getting the work out to the respective audience
that you’re targeting. By following these steps, you will more easily be able
to avoid a start-up failure. There are several reasons that start-ups fail.
These include things around the pivotal era of the company. Many of the
business that start up, start based on horrible ideas, if, during that pivotal
era, they can be flexible and adjust as necessary, they can become successful.
Those that are too ignorant to see that their business plan is not on point
with the market are the ones that fail. I think the most common
cause of start-up failure is inability to see the demand and adjust the product
accordingly. Lack of this skill in the management will cause likelihood of
failure by a large percentage. A business plan can drastically improve your
chances as a small business start-up.
I
have decided to become an independent consultant for Young Living Essential
Oils. I have purchased my starter kit and already let my friends and family
know that are interested that I am able to sell them oils. I know I already
have a couple clients, but I think I will sell few-and-far between because they
last so long because they're so high-quality. Any interest in essential oils, I can be contacted at kennedyisstrong@gmail.com
